Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Geovany Quenda from Sporting Lisbon on a contract until 2034.
Chelsea have officially announced the signing of highly-rated Portuguese youngster Geovany Quenda from Sporting Lisbon, with the 19-year-old putting pen to paper on a long-term contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2034.
Quenda arrives in west London carrying a reputation as one of Europe’s brightest young talents after enjoying a remarkable rise at Sporting. His performances played a major role in helping the Portuguese giants secure a domestic league and cup double last season.

The teenager was recognised for his outstanding campaign after being named the Primeira Liga Young Player of the Season in 2025. Over the past two seasons, he established himself as a regular in Sporting’s first team, impressing both as a winger and in a wing-back role.
Speaking after completing the move, Quenda expressed his excitement about joining Chelsea and beginning the next chapter of his career in the Premier League.
“It feels great to be here,” Quenda said. “Chelsea is a great team and I am excited to play here at Stamford Bridge. The club has shown faith in players like me and I am proud to be here, proud to be part of this club.”
The Portugal Under-21 international also revealed his eagerness to work under new Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso and outlined the qualities he hopes to bring to the squad. He described himself as a hardworking player determined to help his teammates and contribute to the club’s pursuit of trophies.

Quenda’s rapid development has seen him break several records in Portugal. He became the youngest player ever to score for Sporting during his debut season, went on to make 54 appearances in all competitions as the club completed a domestic double, and also became the youngest Portuguese player to score in the UEFA Champions League.
His impressive displays have continued on the international stage, where he recently represented Portugal at the UEFA European Under-21 Championship and earned a place in the Team of the Tournament.
Chelsea will now hope one of Europe’s most exciting young prospects can continue that trajectory and become a key figure at Stamford Bridge for years to come.
