Inter have missed out on Marco Palestra and Nico Paz, while a move for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones is also stalling amid Arsenal interest.
Inter Milan’s summer transfer plans have hit another major obstacle after missing out on Marco Palestra and Nico Paz, with a deal for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones now becoming increasingly difficult to complete.
The Nerazzurri had identified Palestra as one of their priority targets to strengthen the right flank, but the highly-rated defender has instead completed a €60 million move to Chelsea.

His arrival at Stamford Bridge leaves Inter searching for a new starting right wing-back, especially with Denzel Dumfries expected to complete a move to Real Madrid.
Following that disappointment, Inter turned their attention towards Argentine playmaker Nico Paz. The club had hoped to redirect funds originally reserved for Palestra into securing the talented youngster, but that move also appears to have slipped away.
Paz is now reportedly closing in on a permanent €60 million transfer to Como, leaving Cristian Chivu’s side frustrated after failing to land another of their primary summer targets.
The double setback has forced Inter to reassess their transfer strategy as preparations continue for the new campaign.
Attention has now shifted to Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, but negotiations have also reached a standstill. The England international has entered the final year of his contract at Anfield, making him an attractive option for clubs looking to strengthen their midfield.
However, Liverpool remain firm in their €40 million valuation despite Jones’ contract situation. Inter have already seen two offers rejected, with their latest proposal reportedly worth around €25 million, well below the Premier League club’s asking price.

According to reports in Italy, Inter are unwilling to increase their offer any further. Club officials believe Liverpool’s valuation is excessive given the player could leave on a free transfer next summer and will be eligible to negotiate with overseas clubs from January if no agreement is reached before then.
Inter’s hopes have also been complicated by growing interest from Arsenal. Reports from England suggest the Premier League champions are monitoring Jones closely, raising the prospect that the Nerazzurri could lose out on a third major transfer target unless they return with an improved offer before the window gathers pace
