Manchester United are close to agreeing a season-long loan deal that would see Andre Onana return to Trabzonspor.
Discussions between the clubs and the goalkeeper’s representatives are understood to be in their final stages. The proposed agreement is expected to be a straight loan without an option to buy.
Onana played in Turkey last season, making 33 appearances for Trabzonspor and helped the club win the Turkish Cup.

United signed Onana from Inter in 2023 for an initial €51m (£43.9m) plus add-ons as David de Gea’s successor. He consistently started for the club in goal in his first two seasons at Old Trafford, starting 72 of their first 76 Premier League matches in that period.
His standing changed under Ruben Amorim and United signed Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp. It left the 30-year-old with little prospect of regular first-team football.
Onana is still contracted at United until 2028. He has made 102 appearances for the club and kept 24 clean sheets since arriving from Inter.
