Kylian Mbappe will play his 100th game for Les Bleus when they take on Iraq later today.

Kylian Mbappe will hit a new milestone in his international career when France takes on Iraq later today. The Real Madrid star has been one of France’s best players at the World Cup, scoring two goals in their 3-1 win over Senegal.

In that game, he broke several records. He officially reached 14 World Cup in just three tournaments, sitting in the top five goalscorers in World Cup history. He also became France’s highest goalscorer in their World Cup history and in their all-time history. 

When France take on Iraq in their second group game of the 2026 World Cup, Mbappe would hit 100 appearances for Les Blues. 

Since making his debut for France in 2017, Mbappe has proved himself as one of the top players in the World and in France’s history. He now captains Les Blues and will lead them as they push to qualify for the knockout stage of the 2026 World Cup vs Iran.

How France Could Lineup vs Iraq

France have been careful with the defensive quartet of Saliba, Upamecano, Gusto and Theo Hernandez. However, they are all expected to start vs Iraq.

The starting lineup from the Senegal game is expected to remain unchanged but there could be some tactical tweaks with Olise expected to drop into the midfield just like he did in the second half vs Senegal.
