Cristiano Ronaldo has been named in Portugal’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the veteran forward set to appear at a record sixth tournament.
Cristiano Ronaldo is set to lead Portugal into the 2026 FIFA World Cup after head coach Roberto Martinez included the veteran forward in his squad for the tournament this summer.
The 41-year-old striker continues to defy expectations and is now preparing to make history by becoming the first player to feature in six different World Cups.

Currently playing for Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr, Ronaldo remains a central figure for Portugal and continues to add to his remarkable international record.
The former Real Madrid and Manchester United star is already the all-time leading scorer in men’s international football with 143 goals for his country.
Despite his legendary career, Ronaldo is still chasing one major achievement with Portugal, having never lifted the World Cup trophy.
The tournament could also see another chapter written in football’s greatest rivalry, with Lionel Messi expected to represent Argentina at his own sixth World Cup after leading the Albiceleste to glory in Qatar four years ago.
Portugal coach Roberto Martinez named a strong 27-man squad featuring several of the nation’s biggest stars, including Paris Saint-Germain quartet Vitinha, Joao Neves, Nuno Mendes, and Goncalo Ramos, as well as Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes and Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva.
