Real Madrid’s exit from the UEFA Champions League at the hands of Arsenal has added fire to discussions surrounding Carlo Ancelotti’s future as the club’s head coach. Ancelotti has come under fire this season with his tactics referred to as basic.

Despite a contract running until 2026, recent performances have led to speculation about potential changes in the managerial position. Recent reports reveal that the Real Madrid manager could step down after the Copa del Rey final on the 26th of this month.

Ancelotti, who has previously expressed his desire to remain with Real Madrid, stating, “I will never decide to leave Real Madrid,” now faces increased pressure following the team’s underwhelming display against Arsenal. The comprehensive defeat highlighted tactical shortcomings and raised concerns about the team’s direction under his leadership.

Reports suggest that Real Madrid’s hierarchy is considering a managerial change, with former player Raúl González, currently managing Real Madrid Castilla, being mentioned as a potential successor. Additionally, the Brazilian national team has shown interest in Ancelotti, intensifying the uncertainty surrounding his tenure at the club.
