Juventus are stepping up their pursuit of Davide Frattesi, but Inter Milan are proposing a direct swap with Andrea Cambiaso.
Juventus have reignited their interest in Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi ahead of the summer transfer window, but negotiations have already become complicated after Inter responded by asking for Andrea Cambiaso in return.
According to reports in Italy, direct contact has taken place between the clubs and the player’s representatives, with Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti playing a major role in the attempt to bring Frattesi to Turin.

Spalletti is believed to be a huge admirer of the midfielder following their successful time together with the Italy national team. During Spalletti’s spell in charge of the Azzurri, Frattesi became one of the most influential attacking midfielders in the squad, regularly contributing goals and energy from midfield.
The Juventus coach is reportedly determined to reunite with the player regardless of whether the Bianconeri secure Champions League qualification or are forced to settle for Europa League football next season. Club officials also see Frattesi as a midfielder capable of adding dynamism and intensity to the squad.
On Inter’s side, there is growing acceptance that the midfielder could leave this summer. Frattesi has grown increasingly frustrated with his lack of playing time over the last year, and his situation worsened further during the second half of the season as opportunities became even more limited.

A move away from San Siro almost materialised in January when Nottingham Forest showed serious interest in signing the Italian international. However, the deal ultimately collapsed after Liverpool reportedly refused to allow Curtis Jones to join Inter as part of a wider chain of negotiations.
Despite interest from Juventus, Frattesi’s preferred destination is still believed to be Roma, where he previously came through the youth system. Nevertheless, the midfielder is said to be open to joining Juventus if the right agreement can be reached between the clubs.
Inter value Frattesi at a minimum of €30 million and reportedly responded to Juventus’ approach by proposing a direct swap involving Cambiaso. Juventus are understood to view that suggestion as unrealistic and provocative, leaving the two Serie A rivals still far apart as discussions continue ahead of what could become one of the summer’s most intriguing transfer sagas.
