Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of highly rated defender Joane Gadou from RB Salzburg, with the 19-year-old French talent signing a long-term contract until 2031.
Borussia Dortmund have officially announced the signing of highly rated defender Joane Gadou from RB Salzburg ahead of the new season.
The 19-year-old centre-back has signed a long-term contract with the Bundesliga club that will keep him at Signal Iduna Park until 2031, as Dortmund continue to invest in some of Europe’s brightest young talents.

Gadou arrives with a growing reputation after impressing during his development in France and Austria, having previously spent time in the Paris Saint-Germain academy before joining Salzburg.
Dortmund sporting managing director Lars Ricken revealed the club had been monitoring the defender for several years and believes he can make an immediate impact in the squad.
“We have known Joane for a very long time and have been monitoring him since his time at Paris Saint-Germain,” Ricken said. “Joane will strengthen our squad and play an important role for us right from the start of the new season.”
The France youth international has already represented his country 30 times at various youth levels and is viewed as one of the most promising defensive prospects in European football. Speaking after completing the move, Gadou expressed his excitement about joining Dortmund and said he is eager to achieve success with the club and its supporters in the coming years.
