Donyell Malen scored a dramatic 101st-minute penalty as Roma came from behind to beat Parma 3-2 and strengthen their Serie A top-four hopes.
Roma boosted their hopes of securing Champions League football with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Parma, as Donyell Malen scored a 101st-minute penalty to seal a thrilling comeback at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.
Roma started brightly and thought they had taken an early lead when Malen found the net in the ninth minute. However, the celebrations were cut short after VAR ruled the goal out for offside in the build-up, denying the Dutch forward what would have been his 12th goal of the season.

The visitors continued to apply pressure and were left frustrated again when referee Daniele Chiffi waved away penalty appeals after Gianluca Mancini went down inside the area under a strong challenge.
Roma eventually broke the deadlock moments later through Malen. A superb through-ball from Paulo Dybala split the Parma defence, and Malen produced an excellent first touch before firing an unstoppable finish into the corner to put Gian Piero Gasperini’s side ahead.
Parma survived another scare before halftime when Matias Soule struck the post with a header. The hosts regrouped after the break and found an equaliser just three minutes into the second half through Gabriel Strefezza, who finished smartly after being picked out by Hans Nicolussi Caviglia.
The game then opened up dramatically, with chances at both ends. Malen was repeatedly denied by Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, while substitute Mateo Pellegrino saw a goal ruled out for offside as the momentum swung back and forth.
Parma looked set to claim victory late on when Mandela Keita scored a stunning strike from inside the box to make it 2-1. But Roma responded deep into stoppage time through substitute Devyne Rensch, who calmly guided his finish into the far corner to level the match in the 94th minute.

The drama was not over yet. Rensch was brought down inside the area moments later by Sascha Britschgi, who received a second yellow card for the foul. Malen stepped up and converted the penalty in the 101st minute, securing a vital win that moves Roma level on points with fourth-placed AC Milan in the Serie A standings.
