It is confirmed. PSG will face Arsenal in the final of the UEFA Champions League for the 2025/26 season.

Coming into the second leg of the semi-final with a 5-4 advantage over Bayern Munich, PSG were already one foot in the final and judging by Enrique’s comments, his team knew what they had to do to secure their spot in the final.

Without wasting much time, PSG took the lead in the third minute through Ousmane Dembele. Moving the ball from back to front quickly, Fabian Ruiz played a through ball to Kvaratskhelia who ran at the Bayern Munich defence and slid his pass to Dembele, who was unmarked at the far post and had all the time in the world to put his shot past Neuer.

That early goal led fans to think there would be as many goals as last time but it wasn’t the case as Bayern were a bit lethargic and could’ve gone behind by two goals in the first half.

One of the biggest moments in the first half was Bayern’s shout for a handball in the box by Joao Neves. Neves had a clearance slammed into him and had his hand in an unnatural position. However, the referee didn’t give it as a penalty despite Bayern’s protests.

The first half was below par for Bayern as Olise and Diaz weren’t able to really affect the game, and although the game started to get exciting close to half-time, Bayern couldn’t get past Safanov.

The second half dragged on with PSG being the better team. Kvaratskhelia kept the Bayern Munich defence on their toes and almost made it 2-0, but Neuer was on hand to save the shot. Doue also had a couple of shots from almost impossible angles, but Neuer once again was impressive.

Bayern Munich had most of the ball but barely threatened the PSG goal. Stanisic and Olise’s shot were easily smothered by Safanov, and with time running out, it seemed like their fans wouldn’t have anything to celebrate.

Harry Kane did, however, give the home fans something to celebrate by scoring in the dying minutes of the game to tie the game 1-1, but it was a little too late as Bayern needed two goals to qualify.

The final whistle confirmed the reality that had set in since the start of the second half: PSG have moved past Bayern and secured a final against Arsenal in Budapest. The Parisians now have the chance to win back-to-back UCL trophies and become the first team since Real Madrid in 2018 to achieve this feat.
