Chelsea interim boss Calum McFarlane urges full focus on the FA Cup semi-final against Leeds, as the team looks to move past Liam Rosenior’s exit.

Calum McFarlane has insisted that Chelsea must remain fully focused on their FA Cup semi-final, shutting out any distractions following the recent dismissal of Liam Rosenior.

Now serving as interim head coach for the second time this season, McFarlane has quickly shifted attention toward Sunday’s crucial clash against Leeds United at Wembley.

Speaking ahead of the match, McFarlane made it clear that there has been no need for internal discussions about recent events, with the squad solely concentrated on the task at hand. He emphasized that what has happened in the past should not affect preparations, stressing that the entire group is focused on delivering a strong performance in the semi-final.

Despite stepping into the role under difficult circumstances, McFarlane revealed he had a positive conversation with Rosenior after his departure, expressing respect for the former coach and disappointment that things did not work out.

Chelsea have also been dealt a blow ahead of the fixture, with young winger Estevao ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a hamstring injury sustained in the recent defeat to Manchester United. The 19-year-old’s absence is a setback for both club and country, with reports suggesting he could also miss the upcoming World Cup after suffering the injury.

Currently sitting eighth in the Premier League, Chelsea still have plenty to play for. McFarlane подчеркed that the squad remains united and determined to finish the season strongly, starting with a push for FA Cup success.
