Filipe Luis is reportedly in contention for the Chelsea job after his Flamengo exit, joining a shortlist that includes Fabregas, Iraola, and Marco Silva.

Filipe Luis has reportedly entered the race to become the next head coach of Chelsea following his unexpected dismissal from Flamengo earlier this year.

The 40-year-old enjoyed a highly successful spell in Brazil, guiding Flamengo to both league glory and Copa Libertadores success during an impressive tenure that lasted just over a year.

However, his time at the club came to a sudden and surprising end in March. Despite overseeing a dominant 8-0 victory over Madureira, Filipe Luis was dismissed amid reports linking him to potential opportunities in Europe.

Speculation suggested that discussions had taken place between Filipe Luis and Chelsea’s ownership group, BlueCo. Initially, the Brazilian believed he was being considered as a replacement for Enzo Maresca. It later emerged that the talks were actually related to a role at Strasbourg, another club under the BlueCo umbrella. Upon learning this, Filipe Luis reportedly withdrew from the discussions.

Now, according to fresh reports, the former Chelsea defender is once again being considered, this time for the top job at Stamford Bridge following the departure of Liam Rosenior.

Chelsea are currently assessing multiple candidates as they search for a long-term solution, with names such as Cesc Fabregas, Andoni Iraola, and Marco Silva also linked to the vacancy. While Filipe Luis may not be the most conventional option, his recent success and prior connection to the club could make him an intriguing candidate as Chelsea look to reset and rebuild.
