Inter Milan overturned a two-goal deficit to beat Como 3-2 in a thrilling Coppa Italia semi-final

Inter Milan produced another remarkable comeback to defeat Como 3-2 and secure their place in the Coppa Italia final, marking the second time in just 10 days that the Nerazzurri have overturned a two-goal deficit against the same opponent.

Driven by the dream of reaching their first-ever Coppa Italia final, Como started the match with energy and purpose, dominating the early exchanges and putting Inter under sustained pressure at the San Siro.

Their intent nearly paid off when Marc-Oliver Kempf rattled the post with a powerful header from a corner, moments after Inter goalkeeper Josep Martinez had denied Martin Baturina from a tight angle. However, Como’s persistence eventually told on the half-hour mark. A driving run from Ignace van der Brempt opened up space down the flank, and his precise cutback found Baturina, who made no mistake in firing home from close range.

The goal shifted momentum further in Como’s favour, and they continued to threaten before the break, with Tasos Douvikas heading narrowly wide from a dangerous set-piece delivery.

Inter struggled to impose themselves but came close to an equaliser when Marcus Thuram’s header looked destined for the net, only for Maximo Perrone to produce a crucial goal-line clearance.

Como carried their momentum into the second half and doubled their advantage just two minutes after the restart. A careless pass from Piotr Zielinski gifted possession to Nico Paz, who quickly released Lucas Da Cunha to finish clinically from a tight angle.

With their hopes fading, Inter responded with urgency and found a lifeline through Hakan Calhanoglu, whose deflected long-range effort crept into the bottom corner with just over 20 minutes remaining.

The comeback gathered pace as Calhanoglu struck again, this time with a well-placed header to level the score, before Petar Sucic completed the turnaround late on with a stunning curling effort, sealing Inter’s place in the final where they will face either Atalanta or Lazio.
