Liam Rosenior confirms Enzo Fernández is back and available for Chelsea ahead of their key Premier League clash with Manchester United.

Enzo Fernández has returned to full training and will be available for selection when Chelsea face Manchester United this weekend, manager Liam Rosenior confirmed.

The midfielder had been left out of recent matchday squads for disciplinary reasons, missing both Chelsea’s 7-0 FA Cup win over Port Vale and their 3-0 league defeat to Manchester City.

Fernández’s omission followed comments in which he suggested he could reassess his future after the World Cup and expressed a desire to live in Madrid. The Argentine international later issued an apology for those remarks. Rosenior, however, indicated that the situation has now been resolved, praising the midfielder’s attitude since returning to the squad. He highlighted Fernández’s commitment and professionalism in training as key factors behind his reintegration.

“Enzo has been with the group and has been training very, very well,” Rosenior said, adding that it is now “business as usual” when it comes to team selection.

The Chelsea boss also provided updates on other members of his squad. Trevoh Chalobah is nearing a return after participating in modified training, while club captain Reece James remains sidelined and is still some way off full fitness.

Chelsea currently sit sixth in the Premier League table with 48 points, trailing Liverpool by four points in the race for Champions League qualification. Their recent form has been inconsistent, with just one win in their last five league matches.

A positive result against third-placed Manchester United could prove pivotal in closing the gap. Rosenior emphasised the importance of focusing on performance, insisting his side must deliver the right energy, attitude and application to secure a strong result.
