Vincent Kompany says Jamal Musiala is progressing well after injury, despite not yet reaching peak form following his return for Bayern Munich.
Vincent Kompany has expressed confidence in Jamal Musiala as the Bayern Munich star continues his gradual return to peak condition following a serious injury.
The 23-year-old showcased encouraging signs in Bayern Munich’s dominant 5-0 win over St. Pauli, registering both a goal and an assist in an impressive individual display.
Musiala has been working his way back after suffering a gory injury during the FIFA Club World Cup last summer. The setback, which involved a serious muscle and ligament issue, sidelined him for several months and disrupted his rhythm heading into the new season.
Those blaming Jamal Musiala should take it easy on him. He suffered a career ending injury during the club world cup and it’ll take a year before he return to full fitness. We are with Musiala. pic.twitter.com/cMfbDiB8RO

Since returning to action, the German international has been carefully managed by the coaching staff, with minutes and workload gradually increased to avoid any recurrence of the problem.
Kompany acknowledged that Musiala is not yet at his very best but insisted that this is a natural part of the recovery process. He emphasised that the midfielder remains a constant threat in attack and continues to contribute meaningfully to the team. The Bayern boss stressed that there is no pressure on Musiala to rush back to peak form, highlighting that his steady progress is exactly what the club had hoped for following such a serious injury layoff.
Despite limited appearances this season, Musiala has already contributed four goals and three assists in 14 matches, underlining his importance to Bayern even while regaining full fitness.
With confidence building and performances improving, Bayern will be encouraged by Musiala’s trajectory as they look to maintain their strong form across domestic and European competitions.
