If Arsenal somehow find a way to bottle the Premier League, we may enter the greatest banter era of the 21st century.

Arsenal are on the verge of bottling the Premier League. You read that right. Arsenal may well be on their way to bottle the Premier League for the third time in four years.

Arsenal lost 1-2 to Bournemouth at home last weekend, and that result has sent the fan base into panic mode. The Gunners held a nine-point lead over Manchester City before that game and had played just one game more, but with the loss to Bournemouth, Arsenal were in trouble, especially given that City played the next day.

City made the fear more vicious as they beat Chelsea 3-0 to reduce the lead to six points and the goal difference to three. While Arsenal fans grapple with the reality that the league title may actually be up for grabs, City still have a game in hand and they face Arsenal next week.

For both teams, this is a must-win, but for Arsenal, the stakes are even higher. Should City win the game and by 2 goals or more, Arsenal will not only be three points ahead having played one game more, they would have to rebuild their goal difference that has given them a bit of cushion.

Arsenal simply cannot afford to lose the Premier League title. They haven’t won it in two decades, and now that they are about to actually win it, they are about to go on the most unholy bottling journey.

Arsenal were gunning for the quadruple at the start of the season, but losses to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final and to Southampton in the FA Cup quarterfinals have reduced it to a double.

The Champions League is still a huge battle and with City hot on their heels in the Premier League, they may not win anything.

Should they fail to win any trophy and especially the Premier League, they won’t only fall to an insane level of banter, fans may have to get checked for their mental health. They would lose fans, it’s inevitable. A bottling of this nature? It may not be recorded ever again.

Arsenal will enter a new banter era and it will be ugly. The ripple effects may also spill into the next couple of seasons because Arteta won’t just have to leave the club, a couple of players would have to follow him.

The events that will follow if they do bottle the trophy will be an all-timer in football history.
