Inter arrived looking to capitalise on Napoli’s earlier slip, but Como started brightly with early chances for Anastasios Douvikas and Alex Valle, both denied by desperate defending from Dumfries and Francesco Acerbi.
Como’s strong start paid off in the 36th minute when Valle scored his first senior goal, reacting quickest after Yann Sommer parried an effort from Nico Paz. Paz then doubled the lead before halftime with a brilliant strike that clipped the post on its way in.
Inter responded just before the break through Marcus Thuram, who finished cleverly from a cross by Nicolò Barella. The goal shifted momentum heading into the second half.
Thuram struck again shortly after the restart, lobbing Jean Butez to complete Inter’s comeback from two goals down. Moments later, Dumfries headed in from Hakan Çalhanoğlu’s free-kick to put Inter ahead.

The Dutchman sealed the win with his second goal, finishing emphatically after Manuel Akanji inadvertently set him up inside the box. Como did pull one back late through Lucas Da Cunha from the penalty spot, but it proved only a consolation.
Enjoy that one, Denzel? 😂 pic.twitter.com/0kfgJWhhwG

The result strengthens Inter’s push for the title, with Cristian Chivu’s side showing resilience and attacking quality. Meanwhile, Como saw their unbeaten run end and missed a key opportunity to break into the top four.
