As Aston Villa prepares to host Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final, the focus inevitably turns to PSG’s formidable attacking trio. In the first leg, PSG’s offensive prowess was on full display, with Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Nuno Mendes contributing to a 3-1 victory.

Ousmane Dembélé has been particularly lethal, scoring 21 goals in Ligue 1 and adding seven in the Champions League, six of which have come in away matches. His pace and dribbling skills pose a constant threat to defenses, and Villa will need to be vigilant to contain him.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, known for his creativity and flair, can unlock defenses with his vision and passing. His partnership with Dembélé adds a dynamic edge to PSG’s attack, making them unpredictable and difficult to defend against.

Nuno Mendes, while primarily a defender, has shown his offensive capabilities by scoring in the first leg. His overlapping runs and ability to deliver precise crosses add another dimension to PSG’s attacking options.

Let’s not forget Desire Doue. The youngster is an unpredictable trickster, turning defenders at will. The French winger scored a stunning goal to pull PSG level in the first leg and proved difficult to contain for the boys from Birmingham.

Villa’s defense will need to be at its best to withstand PSG’s multifaceted attack. Manager Unai Emery may consider deploying a more defensive setup or introducing fresh legs to cope with the relentless pressure. The midfield battle will also be crucial, as controlling possession could limit PSG’s opportunities to exploit spaces.

PSG’s attacking trio presents a significant challenge for Aston Villa. Containing Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia, and Doue will be essential if Villa hopes to overturn the deficit and progress to the semi-finals.
