Arsenal fans are now panicking about the reality of winning the Premier League title after losing 2-1 to Bournemouth.
Having bounced back to winning ways with a 1-0 win over Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Champions League, Arsenal turned their attention to the final stages of the Premier League title race.
What started out as a marathon has now become a sprint as the Gunners have seven games to become Premier League champions. With the title on the line, the Gunners needed to kick off things with a win, but Bournemouth had other plans.
Arsenal were once again uninspiring, and Bournemouth felt no pressure at the Emirates. The Cherries controlled the possession for the opening exchanges and were rewarded with a goal in the 17th minute as Kroupi tapped in from close range. Kroupi now joins an elite group of teenagers under 20 years old to get 10 goals in a Premier League season. He is also the first U-20 star to register 10 Premier League goals in a campaign since 2000.

Arsenal struggled to get back into the game or even play out of their half, but by a stroke of luck, after Ryan Christie was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box. Gyokeres stepped up and scored to bring Arsenal level and take his tally to 12 in the league.
Despite the goal, Bournemouth were rarely threatened by Arsenal, and after seeing the laxity from his side continue in the second half, Arteta brought on the trio of Eze, Martinelli, and Downman to inject some pace and creativity.
His Arsenal side were still poor on the ball and failed to create chances as Bournemouth remained in full control. With much control of the ball, Bournemouth took the lead once again through a beautiful passage of play that saw them walk through the Arsenal defence with Alex Scott firing past Raya.
With the game now slipping away, Arsenal tried everything to secure a draw, but it just wasn’t clicking. Gyokeres saw his shot go off target while Petrovic denied both Rice and the Swede.Â
Arsenal had a last-ditch chance through Gabriel, who surprisingly found himself in a striking position. The defender somehow got past Senesi but was denied by desperate defending from Jimenez.Â

The game was slipping with each passing minute, and the final whistle confirmed Arsenal’s misery. They have won one game from their last four and are still 9 points above City, who have two games in hand. That nine-point gap could easily become six, and it is not hard to see why Arsenal fans are panicking. Â
