Juventus target Ederson, even as Atletico Madrid hold a preliminary agreement with the Atalanta midfielder.

Juventus have identified Ederson as a key midfield target for the summer transfer window. The move has reportedly been strongly backed by head coach Luciano Spalletti, who believes the player could significantly reshape his squad.

Despite growing interest, the situation is complicated by the fact that Atletico Madrid have already reached a preliminary agreement with the midfielder. However, Juventus remain hopeful they can still enter the race and challenge for his signature.

The Brazilian international is expected to leave Atalanta at the end of the season. With his contract running until 2027, the club are keen to sell now rather than risk his value decreasing in the future.

Ederson’s representatives have been exploring options for some time, and Atletico Madrid have reportedly submitted a bid worth around €35 million. Atalanta, however, are holding out for approximately €40 million and could allow a bidding war to develop. This valuation has opened the door for Juventus, who believe they can convince the midfielder to choose Turin. Spalletti’s reputation for improving energetic, box-to-box midfielders is seen as a key factor in their approach.

Juventus had also considered a move for Sandro Tonali, but the cost and strong interest from clubs in England forced them to abandon that pursuit. As a result, Ederson has emerged as the most realistic high-quality addition in midfield.

Since joining Atalanta in 2022, Ederson has made over 170 appearances, scoring 15 goals and helping the club win the UEFA Europa League in 2024. With Juventus planning significant squad investment this summer, he remains at the top of Spalletti’s wishlist as they look to strengthen their midfield options.
