Lisandro Martinez and Patrick Dorgu are back in the squad for the run-in but Matthijs de Ligt remains out
Manchester United have received a big boost ahead of the final stretch of the season, with Lisandro Martinez and Patrick Dorgu included in the squad for their training camp in Ireland.
United have been on an extended break due to the March international window and then their absence from the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. The club recognise the need for the players to be at peak fitness for the restart and so they will be travelling for a week of intense training outside Dublin ahead of the Premier League run-in.
Martinez returns after missing five matches with a calf injury, raising hopes he could be available for United’s upcoming game against Leeds United at Old Trafford on 13 April.
Dorgu has been sidelined for eight games with a hamstring problem but is now also back on the grass and will continue his recovery during the camp outside Dublin.
United will, however, be without Harry Maguire for the Leeds match after he was sent off in the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.
Elsewhere, Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo have been included in the travelling squad after missing international duty. Diogo Dalot and Tom Heaton will not travel as they recover from illness, while Matthijs de Ligt remains unavailable due to a long-term back injury that has kept him out since November.
United have not played since their draw at Bournemouth on 20 March. Currently third in the Premier League, Michael Carrick’s side have seven matches remaining as they push to secure qualification for the Champions League.
