Juventus secured a 2-0 victory over Genoa with early goals from Bremer and Weston McKennie to strengthen their hold on fifth place in Serie A.

Juventus made a flying start to secure a 2-0 victory over Genoa, earning only their third win in eight Serie A matches and consolidating fifth place in the Serie A table.

The hosts took the lead inside four minutes when Khéphren Thuram headed a half-clearance back into danger, with further touches from Lloyd Kelly allowing Gleison Bremer to nod home, the effort taking a deflection past Justin Bijlow.

Juventus maintained their early momentum, and Thuram nearly doubled the lead with a long-range effort before the second goal arrived in the 17th minute. On the counterattack, Weston McKennie started and finished the move, sweeping the ball wide to Francisco Conceição before meeting the return pass with a low first-time strike.

Genoa enjoyed more possession midway through the first half but struggled to create clear opportunities, while Kenan Yıldız tested the goalkeeper at the other end.

Juventus nearly added a third before halftime, as Yıldız set up McKennie, but the midfielder somehow fired over from close range, leaving the score at 2-0 heading into the break.

The second half saw chances at both ends, including an effort from Jonathan David that struck the post, while substitute goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio produced key saves to keep Genoa at bay.

Di Gregorio also denied a late penalty after a VAR review awarded Genoa a spot-kick, preserving Juventus’ clean sheet and ensuring the hosts extended their unbeaten run while keeping their push for European qualification on track.
