Bayern Munich came from two goals down to defeat Freiburg 3-2 and move closer to the Bundesliga title.

Bayern Munich produced a remarkable late comeback to defeat SC Freiburg 3-2, edging closer to the Bundesliga title while extending their unbeaten away run in all competitions.

Freiburg started brightly and nearly opened the scoring when Jan-Niklas Beste set up Philipp Treu, but the midfielder dragged his effort wide from a promising position.

The hosts continued to threaten, forcing Manuel Neuer into action with saves from Lucas Höler and Philipp Lienhart, though both opportunities were ultimately ruled offside.

Bayern gradually grew into the contest, with Lennart Karl testing Noah Atubolu before Serge Gnabry fired narrowly wide as the sides went into halftime level.

Freiburg broke the deadlock shortly after the restart when Johan Manzambi curled a stunning strike past Neuer. The hosts then doubled their advantage with 19 minutes remaining as Höler capitalised after a misjudged intervention from the Bayern goalkeeper.

Substitute Michael Olise missed a chance to reduce the deficit, but Bayern kept pushing and found a lifeline through Tom Bischof, who fired home to make it 2-1 late in the match. Bischof struck again in stoppage time with another powerful effort to level the score, setting up a dramatic finale as Bayern pressed forward in search of a winner.

The comeback was completed in the 99th minute when Karl tapped in at the back post, sealing a dramatic victory. The result keeps Bayern top of the table ahead of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid, while Freiburg turn their attention to their UEFA Europa League clash with Celta Vigo.
