The visitors made a perfect start when Jonas Wind powered home an early effort past Mark Flekken after holding off Loïc Badé. Leverkusen responded after a controversial penalty was awarded for a challenge by Joakim Mæhle on Ibrahim Maza, allowing Álex Grimaldo to equalise from the spot.
Wolfsburg quickly restored their advantage through Mæhle’s long-range strike before Christian Eriksen converted another penalty after a foul by Edmond Tapsoba on Mohamed Amoura.
Grimaldo struck again just before halftime to reduce the deficit, and the hosts carried that momentum into the second half. Substitute Patrik Schick converted a third penalty before Tapsoba turned home to give Leverkusen the lead.
Leverkusen continued to dominate, with Maza curling in another goal after a well-worked set-piece, putting daylight between the sides and completing the comeback.
Malik Tillman added a late sixth to seal a memorable win. The result keeps Leverkusen sixth and within reach of the top four, while Wolfsburg remain in relegation trouble after extending their winless run.
