Inter Milan saw their title hopes take a hit as they drew 1-1 with Fiorentina, who boosted their Serie A survival chances with a late equalizer.

Inter Milan’s title charge stalled once again as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Fiorentina, who are fighting for survival in Serie A. The visitors took an early lead through Pio Esposito’s header, but Fiorentina rallied to equalize in the 77th minute.

Fiorentina had a sluggish start, conceding inside the opening minute. However, they grew into the game, with Moise Kean and Albert Guðmundsson threatening to level before halftime.

The second half saw Inter create chances to extend their lead, but Manuel Akanji and Marcus Thuram missed their opportunities. Fiorentina, meanwhile, continued to push, and Cher Ndour’s late equalizer was a testament to their resilience.

Ndour reacted quickest on the rebound, firing home from close range after Yann Sommer parried Guðmundsson’s attempt. The momentum had shifted in Fiorentina’s favor, with Jack Harrison’s late effort narrowly missing the target.

The draw is a timely boost for Fiorentina, who are now unbeaten in their last five games across all competitions. They remain in 16th, just two points clear of the bottom three.

Inter, on the other hand, have now gone winless in three league matches (D2, L1). They lead AC Milan by six points at the summit and they will need to avoid any more slips if they want to lift the scudetto by the end of the season.
