Tottenham Assistant Coach Says Spurs Are Struggling With Relegation Pressure

Tottenham assistant coach Bruno Saltor says Spurs failed to handle the pressure after a 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest left them hovering above the relegation zone.

Bruno Saltor admitted that Tottenham Hotspur struggled to cope with the pressure of a crucial relegation clash after a damaging 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest left them just one point above the drop zone.

Tottenham had shown signs of improvement in recent matches, earning a hard-fought draw against Liverpool and recording a spirited 3-2 win over Atlético Madrid in the Champions League. Those results had lifted morale heading into the must-win encounter.

Supporters gathered early to cheer the team bus, and planned protests against the club’s ownership were postponed in an attempt to unite behind the players. However, frustration quickly returned as boos echoed around the stadium following another disappointing display.

Saltor took media duties in the absence of head coach Igor Tudor, who was dealing with a family bereavement. He acknowledged positives from the opening stages but admitted the team struggled once the match intensified.

The assistant coach praised the players’ effort but stressed that mistakes continue to prove costly. He highlighted that Tottenham performed well for much of the first half, yet were unable to cope with the weight and pressure of the occasion after the break.

The defeat also exposed the fragile relationship between the club and its fans, with many supporters leaving early and others voicing their anger.

Captain Cristian Romero described the result as painful but urged unity, calling the remaining fixtures “seven finals.”

Saltor echoed that message, insisting everyone at the club shares the same objective, survival in the Premier League. However, with their long-standing top-flight status under serious threat, Spurs now face a tense battle to avoid relegation.
