Luciano Spalletti expresses mixed feelings about Juventus’ 1-1 draw with Sassuolo as he criticized his team’s decision-making.

Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti was torn between praise and criticism of his players after a 1-1 draw with Sassuolo. Despite creating numerous chances, Spalletti felt his team often made the wrong decisions, ultimately costing them the win.

“We created so many chances, but often made the wrong decisions,” Spalletti said, highlighting Juventus’ struggles with execution.

The Bianconeri had taken the lead through Kenan Yildiz but squandered their advantage, with Manuel Locatelli’s late penalty save sealing the draw.

Spalletti emphasized the importance of smart decision-making, particularly when playing with four at the back. He urged his players to spread the ball and create one-on-one situations, rather than risking possession in the middle.

The coach praised some of his players, including Mattia Perin and Francisco Conceicao, for making the right decisions at times. However, he criticized Conceicao for missing opportunities and making poor choices, highlighting the need for more maturity and smart decision-making.

Juventus’ struggles with penalties continued, with this being the third consecutive penalty they have failed to convert in Serie A. Spalletti acknowledged the disappointment but encouraged his team to focus on the positives.

Despite the draw, there was some good news for Juventus, with Dusan Vlahovic and Arek Milik making their first appearances in months. Spalletti’s late substitutions aimed to inject fresh energy into the team.

The result leaves Juventus in a precarious position, potentially falling further behind Como and Roma. Spalletti urged his team to accept the result and focus on improvement.

Speaking about the upcoming World Cup play-off against Northern Ireland, Spalletti expressed faith in the Italian national team. He believed they have everything it takes to qualify for the World Cup.
