Inter director Piero Ausilio travelled to London to discuss a potential move for Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, with the Italian already open to a Serie A return.
Inter Milan have intensified their pursuit of Guglielmo Vicario, with director Piero Ausilio reportedly flying to London to hold direct talks with the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper.
Vicario has emerged as Inter’s top target ahead of next season, with the club keen to reinforce their goalkeeping department. The Italian international is said to be open to the move, signaling his willingness to return to Serie A after his stint in the Premier League.
Reports suggest that initial discussions between Inter and Vicario’s representatives began several weeks ago, laying the groundwork for a potential transfer. Ausilio’s trip to London is seen as a decisive step in advancing negotiations.
Tottenham’s position in the Premier League could play a significant role in the deal. With Spurs currently battling relegation, Vicario is believed to be considering his future, with a move back to Italy increasingly appealing.
Financially, Tottenham are expected to demand a transfer fee in the region of €15m to €20m. However, that valuation could drop if the North London side were to suffer relegation to the Championship.
Inter’s interest is also driven by the situation of Yann Sommer, whose contract is set to expire at the end of the season. The Nerazzurri are therefore planning ahead to secure a reliable long-term option in goal.
Despite conceding 165 goals in 115 appearances for Tottenham, Vicario has enjoyed notable success, including winning the UEFA Europa League with the club last season, further underlining his experience at the top level.
