Real Madrid secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Deportivo Alavés in La Liga, with Eduardo Camavinga’s first-half goal proving decisive.

The match was overshadowed by Kylian Mbappé’s red card in the 38th minute for a dangerous tackle on Antonio Blanco.

Camavinga opened the scoring in the 34th minute with a curling shot from outside the box, marking his first league goal since March 2022.

Mbappé’s dismissal shortly after left Madrid with ten men for the remainder of the match.

Alavés also went down to ten men in the 70th minute when Manu Sánchez received a red card for a foul on Vinícius Jr. Despite the red cards, Alavés fought till the last as Real Madrid managed to hold onto their lead, thanks in part to Thibaut Courtois’ crucial saves.

The victory keeps Real Madrid four points behind league leaders Barcelona, maintaining their hopes in the title race. However, Mbappé’s suspension could pose challenges in upcoming fixtures.
