Tottenham manager Igor Tudor has urged his players to fight rather than give up as they prepare to face Liverpool.
Igor Tudor has delivered a strong message to his players as Tottenham Hotspur prepare for a crucial Premier League clash against Liverpool at Anfield.
Tudor has endured a difficult start since taking over as interim manager following the dismissal of Thomas Frank, losing all four matches in charge so far. The poor run has left Tottenham in a precarious position near the bottom of the league table.
Tottenham currently sit 17th in the standings, just one point above West Ham United and Nottingham Forest in the relegation zone. With key fixtures approaching, Tudor knows his side must quickly turn their form around to avoid slipping further into trouble.
The Croatian coach urged his players to adopt a fighting mentality rather than feeling sorry for themselves during what he described as a difficult period for the club.
According to Tudor, footballers must decide how they respond to adversity, stressing that they can either complain about the situation or take responsibility and work together to change it.
Tottenham’s preparations have also been complicated by several injury problems. Tudor confirmed that João Palhinha, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Yves Bissouma will all miss the match, while Conor Gallagher remains a doubt due to illness.
Reports suggest Tudor’s future could depend on the outcome of the match against Liverpool, with speculation linking Sean Dyche to the role if Tottenham decide to make another managerial change during what has already been a turbulent season for the club.
