PSG coach Luis Enrique says he has full confidence his team can rediscover their best form ahead of their Champions League last-16 clash with Chelsea.

Luis Enrique insists PSG have no doubts about their ability to raise their level as they prepare to face Chelsea in the Champions League round of 16.

The French champions welcome Chelsea to the Parc des Princes for the first leg on Wednesday. It will be the first meeting between the two clubs since Chelsea defeated PSG 3-0 in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup last July.

Despite that setback, PSG enjoyed a historic campaign last season when they lifted the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history. The Qatar-backed club dominated across competitions during what was widely considered their most successful season.

However, the long and demanding campaign has taken its toll, with several players struggling for form and fitness during the current season. PSG’s inconsistency has raised questions about whether they can reproduce the level that brought them European glory.

Their recent domestic form has also been uneven. The Parisians suffered a 3-1 home defeat to AS Monaco last weekend, leaving them only one point ahead of RC Lens at the top of the Ligue 1 table.

Luis Enrique believes facing a strong opponent like Chelsea could help bring out the best in his players. He praised the quality of English clubs and acknowledged the challenge posed by Chelsea, who are now coached by Liam Rosenior.

The Spanish coach also suggested that defending their Champions League crown may feel less daunting than winning it for the first time. Nevertheless, he stressed that PSG remain fully focused on repeating their success and will do everything possible to progress in the competition.
