Will PSG get revenge following their 3-0 loss to Chelsea in the FIFA Club World Cup final or will Chelsea knock out the defending champions from the UCL?

Chelsea and PSG face off for the first time since their meeting in the FIFA Club World Cup where Chelsea won 3-0 thanks to a brace from Cole Palmer and a sublime chip from Joao Pedro. 

In what will be considered as PSG’s peak season, where they won all trophies within their grasp (6), they were uncharacteristically humbled by Chelsea. Now with their UCL title defence on the line, PSG face the Blues again, and failure to win won’t only give Liam Rosenior and his men bragging rights, but they would also knock out the defending UCL champions.

Team News

PSG pair Fabian Ruiz (knee) and Quentin Ndjantou (hamstring) are sidelined with injuries, while Joao Neves has made progress in his recovery from an ankle issue that has kept him out of the last three matches and he could feature on Wednesday, pending a late fitness test.

Enrique will weigh up whether to recall captain Marquinhos, who has been an unused substitute in the last two games, or stick with the pairing of Illia Zabarnyi and William Pacho at centre-back.

As for Chelsea, Estevao Willian is still sidelined, although Rosenior predicts he could be back for this tie. Wesley Fofana (thigh) should be fit to return to the first XI and play alongside Trevoh Chalobah at centre-back.
