Borussia Dortmund are reportedly considering a move to bring Jadon Sancho back to the club as they prepare to replace Julian Brandt, who will leave on a free transfer this summer.

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly exploring the possibility of re-signing Jadon Sancho as they prepare for the departure of Julian Brandt at the end of the season. The club is searching for an attacking player capable of immediately stepping into a starting role.

Sancho previously made a huge impact during his first spell at Dortmund, developing into one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting attacking talents. His performances earned him a high-profile move to Manchester United F.C. in 2021 for a reported €85 million.

However, the winger struggled to consistently reproduce his Dortmund form in England. In the second half of the 2023/24 season, he returned to Signal Iduna Park on loan and enjoyed a brief revival with the German club.

Sancho is currently on loan at Aston Villa and is expected to become a free agent in the summer. His contract situation has once again placed him on Dortmund’s radar ahead of the next transfer window.

Brandt will leave Dortmund when his contract expires, creating a gap in the squad that the club hopes to fill with an experienced attacking option. Sancho, now 25, could be open to returning to the Bundesliga and may even accept a significant pay cut to make the move possible. A reunion would mark his third spell with Dortmund following his previous successes at the club.

However, uncertainty remains about whether Sancho would fit into the plans of current Dortmund coach Niko Kovač. While discussions are ongoing, the club is still evaluating whether bringing the winger back would be the right decision.
