Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has offered an injury update on Trossard and Calafiori after both players were forced off during the FA Cup win over Mansfield Town.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has delivered an important injury update on Leandro Trossard and Riccardo Calafiori ahead of the club’s upcoming Champions League clash. Both players were forced off during Arsenal’s recent FA Cup victory, raising concerns about their availability.

The Gunners secured a 2-1 win over Mansfield Town to progress to the quarter-finals of the competition. Goals from Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke sealed the result, although the match proved more challenging than many expected.

Both Trossard and Calafiori started the match but were unable to complete the game. Trossard was substituted late in the first half after appearing to pick up an injury, while Calafiori was forced off in the 76th minute with what looked like a hamstring problem.

Speaking after the match, Arteta reassured supporters by describing both issues as minor concerns. The Arsenal manager explained that the players were experiencing small discomforts and were taken off as a precaution.

Arteta noted that the difficult playing conditions contributed to the decision to substitute them early. He emphasised that the club did not want to take unnecessary risks with players who were not completely comfortable continuing the match.

Despite the injury scares, there is optimism that both players could recover in time for Arsenal’s Champions League round-of-16 first-leg clash against Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Wednesday. The squad travelling to Germany is expected to be confirmed shortly before the fixture.

In addition to Trossard and Calafiori, Arsenal are also monitoring the fitness of William Saliba, Ben White and Martin Ødegaard ahead of the European tie. Among them, Saliba appears the most likely to return after missing the recent match due to a minor ankle issue.
