Napoli Beat Torino 2-1 to Strengthen Hold on Third Place

Napoli maintained their unbeaten home record in Serie A with a thrilling 2-1 win over Torino at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Napoli stormed into the lead early on, thanks to Alisson Santos’ stunning goal. Torino goalkeeper Alberto Paleari made an incredible save to deny Mathias Olivera, but Alisson capitalized on a corner kick, scoring his second goal since joining from Sporting CP in January.

Torino pushed back, with Vanja Milinkovic-Savic making a crucial intervention to block Nikola Vlasic’s tap-in attempt. Despite their efforts, Napoli’s defense held strong, and Rasmus Hojlund came close to doubling their lead before halftime.

The second half saw Napoli continue to dominate, with Paleari making impressive saves to keep Torino at bay. Eljif Elmas eventually scored the decisive goal in the 68th minute, netting against his former club.

Kevin De Bruyne made a welcome return, replacing Alisson in the closing stages. Torino pulled one back late through Cesare Casadei, but it was too little, too late.

The win moves Napoli five points clear of fourth-placed AS Roma, having played an extra game. Torino remains 14th, six points above the relegation zone.

Napoli’s next challenge is an away game against Roma, while Torino hosts Genoa in their upcoming match.
