Bayern Munich has confirmed that top scorer Harry Kane will miss Friday’s Bundesliga game against Borussia Mönchengladbach due to a calf injury.
Vincent Kompany revealed that Kane, alongside Hiroki Ito and Alphonso Davies, will be out for the match. “He got a knock on his calf and hasn’t recovered yet,” Kompany said, adding that it’s just a minor issue.
Kompany expressed confidence that Kane will recover soon, saying “it’s nothing serious for the time being, but we’re missing a day maybe for him to be involved.” Manuel Neuer has recovered from injury and is fit to start in goal.
The absence of Kane gives other players a chance to shine. Kompany noted that “the lads who are involved tomorrow against Gladbach are really looking forward to it.” He added that some players are hoping to get their moment in the spotlight.
Bayern will hope to have Kane fit for the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 clash with Atalanta on Tuesday.
