Atalanta has snatched a late draw in the Coppa Italia semi-final against Lazio, with a 2-2 result in Rome keeping their hopes of a first Coppa title since 1963 alive.

Atalanta thought they had taken the lead early on, but Nikola Krstovic’s header was ruled out for offside.

The game opened up in the second half as Lazio grew into the game and took the lead in the 63rd minute through Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, who chipped the ball over Marco Carnesecchi.

Atalanta equalized four minutes later, with Mario Pasalic scoring after Ivan Provedel palmed the ball to him. The game was intense, with both sides creating chances, but it was Lazio who seemed to be in control.

Atalanta’s defence was later exposed, and Lazio capitalized through Boulaye Dia, who scored in the 87th minute. However, visitors refused to give up, and Yunus Musah scored a dramatic equalizer in the 90th minute.

The result means the tie is wide open, with Atalanta hosting Lazio in the second leg on April 22.

Atalanta’s manager Raffaele Palladino will be looking for his team to build on their strong performance and reach the final.

Lazio, on the other hand, will be hoping to bounce back from this setback and secure their place in the final.

The second leg promises to be an intense and thrilling encounter, with both teams looking to emerge victorious and reach the Coppa Italia final.
