Bayern Munich extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga table with a crucial 3-0 win over Werder Bremen.Β
Bayern Munich initially struggled to break down Bremen’s defense for the first 20 minutes, but Lennart Karl eventually found a way for the Bundesliga champions. He made an impressive run and was fouled in the box, giving Bayern a chance to score from the penalty spot.

Harry Kane converted the penalty and scored again just minutes later, curling a shot into the top corner to put Bayern 2-0 up. Kane’s brace was the perfect response to Bremen’s early pressure, and it set the tone for the rest of the game. Kane’s brace also took him to 500 career goals, a new personal record for the prolific English striker.

Bremen had chances to get back into the game, but Bayern’s defence held firm.
In the second half, Bremen pushed to pull one back but they were instead stunned by Bayern in the 70th minute. Alphonso Davies, who came on as a substitute, slid the ball across the top of the box to Leon Goretzka, who scored the third goal.
The win takes Bayern to 57 points and gives them a six-point cushion over Borussia Dortmund, who had closed the gap to three points after Friday’s win over Mainz.
