It marks just the second semi-final appearance in the club’s history and represents a major milestone for Cesc Fabregas’s side, who held their nerve in a dramatic shootout to win 7-6.
Napoli boss Antonio Conte had celebrated his 400th managerial win at the weekend and would have hoped to follow it up swiftly with another milestone. Instead, he was left frustrated by a flat first-half display from his side, who struggled to impose themselves on the contest in front of their home supporters.
The hosts offered little attacking threat in a subdued opening 45 minutes. Their best opportunity came after 15 minutes when Stanislav Lobotka tried his luck from distance, but his effort bounced comfortably into the arms of Como goalkeeper Jean Butez. Napoli lacked intensity and creativity, allowing their visitors to gradually grow into the game.
From the half-hour mark, Como began to assert control. Nico Paz and Maximo Perrone both tested Vanja Milinkovic-Savic with half-chances, while Ivan Smolcic came close at the back post but failed to connect cleanly.

The breakthrough eventually arrived after a lengthy VAR review determined that Smolcic had been brought down by Mathias Olivera inside the box. Martin Baturina calmly converted the resulting penalty into the bottom-left corner to give Como a deserved lead.
Napoli responded immediately after the interval, levelling the score just 43 seconds into the second half. A clever flick-on from Rasmus Hojlund released Antonio Vergara, who kept his composure to slot past Butez and restore parity. The quick equaliser injected urgency into the hosts’ performance, but clear-cut chances remained scarce as both defences tightened up.
Como nearly reclaimed the advantage before the hour when Jayden Addai broke through on goal, only to see his tight-angle effort saved by Milinkovic-Savic. As the match wore on, both teams cancelled each other out, with limited goalmouth action. Mergim Vojvoda forced a late save from the Napoli goalkeeper, but neither side could find a winner in normal time.
The tie ultimately went to penalties, where drama unfolded. Como converted their first two spot-kicks before Romelu Lukaku dragged his effort wide. Although Perrone saw his attempt saved, the shootout moved into sudden death. Marc-Oliver Kempf converted to make it 7-6, and Butez then produced the decisive moment, saving from Lobotka to seal a famous victory.

For Conte, it is another bitter cup exit in the space of two weeks, leaving Napoli with only the Serie A title to chase this season.
