Luis Díaz was the standout performer, scoring a hat-trick and winning two penalties in a dominant display that reaffirmed Bayern’s title credentials.
The pressure was firmly on Vincent Kompany’s side after two consecutive league draws had allowed Borussia Dortmund to close the gap. Bayern responded with intensity as Olise forced Oliver Baumann into an early save.
In a matter of moments, Hoffenheim were down to 10 men as Kevin Akpoguma brought down Díaz in the penalty area. Akpoguma was shown a red card and a penalty kick was awarded to Bayern Munich. Harry Kane calmly converted from the spot, sending Baumann the wrong way to give the hosts a deserved lead.
Despite being reduced to 10 men, Hoffenheim showed real character and were rewarded with an equaliser. After Kabak headed wide and Fisnik Asllani rattled the crossbar, Manuel Neuer’s loose pass gifted possession to Asllani, who squared for Kramarić to tap home.
Parity did not last long, however, as Díaz was once again fouled in the box, this time by Vladimír Coufal. Kane stepped up for his second penalty of the evening and produced an almost identical finish to restore Bayern’s advantage.

The hosts then seized full control before the interval, with Díaz cutting inside and curling a composed finish past Baumann in stoppage time. Early in the second half, Olise slid a pass across the six-yard box for Díaz to bundle in Bayern’s fourth, effectively killing the contest.
With the points secured, Bayern controlled the tempo until Díaz completed his first Bundesliga hat-trick late on, drilling a precise strike into the far corner. The win keeps Dortmund at bay and ends Hoffenheim’s club-record five-match winning run.
