Liam Rosenior praised an “unstoppable” Cole Palmer after his first-half hat-trick inspired Chelsea to a 3-1 Premier League win at Wolves.

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior was full of admiration for Cole Palmer after the forward’s sensational first-half hat-trick fired the Blues to a 3-1 victory away at Wolves. Palmer’s ruthless display settled the contest before the break and underlined his growing importance to Rosenior’s side.

The England international showed remarkable composure throughout the opening period, calmly dispatching two penalties before rifling a third goal into the roof of the net to complete his treble. His celebration, in which he covered his ears, appeared to be a response to recent speculation suggesting he was unsettled at Stamford Bridge.

Rosenior was quick to dismiss any doubts about Palmer’s mindset, instead highlighting his influence on Chelsea’s attacking play. The coach described his forward as a world-class talent and stressed that his unique qualities should be protected rather than restrained.

“I don’t want him to change,” Rosenior said. “Some of our football was exactly how I want us to play, and he was a huge part of that. We know the level he can reach, and when he’s at his best, he’s unstoppable.”

Palmer’s three-goal haul also takes his goal tally to 51 goals for Chelsea since his move from Manchester City in 2023.

After struggling with a groin injury earlier in the season, Palmer’s minutes have been carefully managed, and he is yet to enjoy a long run of games under the new manager. Rosenior believes that patience has been key in allowing the forward to rediscover his sharpness.

Palmer echoed those sentiments after the match, praising Rosenior’s man-management and approach. The 23-year-old, who became the first player in the Premier League era to score three first-half hat-tricks in his career, insisted that once he regains full fitness, his best form is still to come.
