Arsenal beat Chelsea 1-0 on the night and 4-2 on aggregate to reach the EFL Cup final.
Arsenal are Wembley bound. The Gunners came into this game with a 3-2 advantage and all they needed was a draw or win to secure a spot in the final.
The entire game was a drab affair between both sides and they both played with caution. Chelsea who should’ve been chasing the game played as if they were respecting their opponents and Arsenal, on the other hand, were satisfied with a draw.
The best chances of the game fell to Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez who tested Kepa from long-range and ballooned a few good chances.
With the game at 0-0 with just under a minute to play, Arsenal had already secured their spot in the final. However, Kai Havertz had a twist to the game as he scored from the last-ditch counter attack to ensure Arsenal beat Chelsea home and away and also secure their spot in the final.
For Chelsea, the road ends here and Rosenior will focus on getting Chelsea into the top 4 of the Premier and compete for glory in the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.
For Arsenal, they are still competing in all four competitions with a chance to end their trophyless drought when they face either Manchester City or Newcastle in the final.
This is their first final since 2018 when they lost to Manchester City and a chance to win it since their last triumph in 1993
