AC Milan will travel to Bologna without Christian Pulisic, with the American ruled out due to bursitis ahead of Tuesday’s Serie A clash.

AC Milan will be without Christian Pulisic for Tuesday night’s Serie A fixture away to Bologna. According to reports, the United States international did not travel with the rest of the squad after Monday afternoon’s training session, immediately raising doubts over his availability for the midweek clash.

Allegri also spoke about it during his pre-match press conference, confirming that Pulisic was struggling with bursitis and would need to be carefully assessed before any decision was made.

AC Milan is deciding not to risk the winger as Pulisic is set to miss the trip to Bologna, joining Alexis Saelemaekers on the list of absentees.

Saelemaekers’ absence leaves Allegri considering alternatives on the right flank, with Zachary Athekame and Ruben Loftus-Cheek named as the main candidates to fill the role against Bologna.

There is slightly better news regarding Rafael Leao, who is not fully fit but is still expected to start the match, providing Milan with a much-needed attacking outlet.

Meanwhile, Santiago Gimenez remains sidelined with an ankle injury and is not expected to return to action before March, further limiting Milan’s options as they look to maintain momentum in the Serie A title race.
