The biggest UCL clash on Wednesday takes place at the Signal Iduna Park, and Borussia Dortmund fight for their place in the next round against Inter Milan.

Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund, two UCL winners and recent finalists, go head-to-head in the final fixture of the UCL league phase. Both sides are separated by one point in the league table; a win could see either team sneak into the top eight and gain automatic qualification into the last 16, depending on the results from other teams. 

Dortmund saw their hopes of making the top eight stripped away from them in an embarrassing 2-0 loss to Tottenham last week. Now, they have it all to play for against an Inter Milan side who will refuse to be pushovers.

Inter Milan, who were in the top three at a time and boasted an unbeaten record, have now fallen freely to 14th place after three consecutive losses, the recent one being their 3-1 loss to Arsenal at San Siro. 

While they lead the Serie A, they will need to get their acts together if they want to impress on the continental stage.

For both teams, there is bad news.

Following Svensson’s red card against Tottenham, he will be out due to a suspension. Sule and Sabitzer have both been confirmed injured, and to make matters worse, Anselmino has been recalled from his loan by Chelsea. 

For Inter, Barella is expected to miss this game through injury. Chivu will be hoping that, despite Barella’s absence, his team doesn’t repeat that performance against Arsenal.
