Striker’s contract expires at the end of the season and he reportedly has options in the US

Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski could join Major League Soccer in the US after his contract runs out in the summer.

Both Barcelona and the Poland international have delayed making any major decision on his future, and talk of a contract extension at the club has been intentionally put off for months. Barcelona sources have repeatedly said that a decision will be left till the summer.

However, Lewandowski may not renew his deal at the club as he has “very concrete options” in the MLS, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg from Sky Sports Germany.

Lewandowski joined Barcelona in 2022 and has made 171 appearances so far for the club, scoring 112 goals. However, he has found things a bit more difficult this season. His minutes have been restricted both by Hansi Flick’s decision and the form of Ferran Torres.

The Poland international has managed 11 goals in 24 appearances, and started just 13 games.
