Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has lauded his team’s courage and conviction in their 3-1 win over Inter Milan at the San Siro.

Arteta expressed his pride in the team’s effort, stating, “I’m very happy, super proud of the players. We talked about doing something special tonight, and it was going to require a very, very complete performance to have the opportunity to win.”

The Gunners’ victory marked their seventh consecutive win in the Champions League, a club record, and secured their top-two finish in the league phase.

Arteta highlighted the team’s emotional control, aggression, and individual performances, crediting Cristhian Mosquera’s impressive return from injury.

Mosquera, who started in place of Gabriel, delivered a solid 75-minute display. Arteta praised Mosquera’s performance, saying, “He [Cristhian] was unbelievable.

Gabriel Jesus also shone, scoring twice in the first half and demonstrating his impact on the game. Arteta praised Jesus’ performance, attributing it to his growth and confidence.

The win sets up a thrilling Premier League clash against Manchester United this Sunday, which Arteta is focused on. “Let’s enjoy tonight, and we have another massive game on Sunday against [Manchester] United as well, and then we will look after that one,” he said.

Arteta’s side now eyes a perfect record in the Champions League league phase, hosting Kairat Almaty next week.
