Only twice has the feat been achieved in the modern era, under Pep Guardiola in 2008-09 and Luis Enrique in 2014-15
Barcelona have matched the second-best winning streak in their history with the victory over Racing Santander on Thursday.
The 2-0 win, after goals from Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal, made it 11 straight victories under Hansi Flick this season. It is something that Flick’s side could not manage even last season when they won a domestic treble and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Barcelona have only achieved 11 straight victories on four separate occasions: in the 2014-15 season under Luis Enrique; in 2008-09 with Pep Guardiola in charge; in 1955-56 under Franz Platko; and between 1925 and 1927, coached by Ralph Kirby, Richard Dombi and Roma Forns.
The best winning streak in the club’s history is the 18-game winning run in the 2005-06 season with Ronaldinho at the club and Frank Rijkaard in charge. That season, Barcelona won the Spanish Super Cup, La Liga and the Champions League.
