Juventus is preparing to launch a formal offer for Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa, with talks expected to intensify in the coming hours.

Juventus are looking to secure the 28-year-old’s services on a loan deal with an obligation to buy, tied to his number of appearances.

The Bianconeri believe Chiesa’s familiarity with Serie A and the club’s structure would make him an ideal fit, especially with coach Luciano Spalletti at the helm. Chiesa has expressed interest in returning to Turin, which could facilitate negotiations.

However, Liverpool is hesitant to part with Chiesa, given their limited attacking options and financial expectations. The Reds are seeking a permanent transfer, while Juventus prefers a loan with an obligation to buy.

A key factor influencing Chiesa’s future is the return of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah from the Africa Cup of Nations. Egypt’s semi-final appearance means Salah won’t be back until next week, potentially impacting Chiesa’s situation.

Juventus is keen to finalize the deal, with Chiesa seen as a vital addition to their attacking lineup. The club is willing to meet Liverpool’s demands, but an agreement on personal terms, including wages, is still pending.

Chiesa’s recent performances have been marred by injuries and lack of playing time, prompting Juventus to tie the obligation to buy to his appearances, ensuring they don’t commit to a player who may not feature regularly.

The negotiations are complex, but Chiesa’s desire to return to Turin could be the deciding factor. If Juventus meets Liverpool’s demands, Chiesa could be on his way to Italy.
