Bayern Munich has increased their lead at the Bundesliga summit to 11 points with an emphatic 8-1 thrashing of Wolfsburg.
Bayern Munich were off to a flying start, with Kilian Fischer scoring an unfortunate own goal in the early minutes. Wolfsburg responded quickly, with Dzenan Pejcinovic equalizing just eight minutes later.
However, Bayern soon regained the lead through Luis Diaz’s goal. The visitors continued to threaten, but Bayern’s attack proved too strong, with Olise scoring his first goal of the evening to extend Bayern’s lead.
The Frenchman was instrumental in Bayern’s dominance, scoring a sublime strike and assisting another goal. Harry Kane and Raphael Guerreiro also got on the scoresheet, with Kane scoring his 20th Bundesliga strike of the campaign.
Bayern’s attack was relentless, and they continued to press home their advantage. Olise bagged his second of the evening, and Leon Goretzka scored the final goal to complete a remarkable 8-1 victory.
The win takes Bayern a step closer to their 13th Bundesliga title in 14 seasons.
