Forward has recovered from a knee sprain
Kylian Mbappe is available and in contention to play in the Spanish Super Cup final against Barcelona on Sunday.
Mbappe has missed Real Madrid’s last two games with a knee sprain, including their semi-final match against Atletico, which they won 2-1 to set up a clásico final in Saudi Arabia.
“He will travel tomorrow and we will see if he is in condition to play,” Alonso said of Mbappe. “He is much better, he has trained and the sensations are good. The options for him to play are the same as everyone else who is available.”
In Mbappe’s absence on Thursday, Federico Valverde and Rodrygo were on target, while Alexander Sorloth halved Madrid’s lead and Atletico pressured them late on, with Madrid hanging on by a thread.
“The objective was to reach the final,” Alonso said about the game. “It was quite a contested semi-final. The team competed, knew how to suffer. At 2-1 the team held on and endured well.”
